A Makeup Tip From the "I Learned This the Hard Way" Files: How to Remove Globs of Lash Glue From Your Eyelids - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I'm a fiend for imitation lashes, but I am by no means one of those lucky people who are always able to just pop them on and be similar, "Doop-da-doo, la-lah-la! That was piece of cake. Now let'southward go find some unicorns and rainbows."
Sometimes information technology is pretty easy. Peradventure one-half the fourth dimension. Just the rest of the time information technology's not, and I'll terminate up with eyelash glue all over my lids.
That really happened earlier this week when I was applying a pair of big, bushy, dramatic MAC 34 lashes, which are majorly long at the outer corners (great for cat centre looks), but for the life me, I couldn't set the lash ring where it needed to go.
And then bam! — glue all over my lids.
Of form, this happened later I'd spent the time blending and buffing a agglomeration of eyeshadows on my lids (OF Course).
Fifty-fifty though the mucilage I was using dried articulate and invisible, I could still see the texture of the glue on my lids, looking all bumpy and heavy.
I sat there with gobs o' gum all over my lids and thought, "Gee, this sucks. How am I going to remove this without messing up my eyeshadow?"
I was pretty sure that a makeup wipe or cleansing oil, which are what I'd normally use to remove false lashes, would ruin my shadow handiwork.
That'southward when a metaphorical makeup lite bulb went off. [DING!]
First, I grabbed a stiff brow comb (I wanted ane with crispy, for lack of a better word, beard). I just used the comb on the cease of a Guerlain Eyebrow Pencil.
I waited until the glue was completely dry. So I used the comb to gently scrape the glue off my lids, all the while, doing my best to keep from messing up the makeup underneath.
And it worked. No more than glue. 🙂
Certain, there were a couple spots where the glue lifted my eyeshadow, and so I even so had to get dorsum in with my brushes and eyeshadows to patch things up, but at least I didn't have to start from scratch (that would have been much more work).
Incidentally, this trick also works to remove backlog mascara on your lids. Simply brand sure you lot look until it dries, and it'll fleck right off.
And be careful, as well, because those brow combs can be awfully potent. Y'all don't want to scratch the delicate peel effectually your eyes.
Your friendly neighborhood dazzler addict,
Karen
